We learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves! The one thing I didn’t have time to note down is the opposites when it comes to balance the taste in a dish. For exemple, if it’s too sweet you add salt right? You had a whole graphic for your presentation that clearly demonstrated those opposites. I’m looking forward to your next class at Sur La Table. It was really great !

Lonni, How thoughtless of me to not comment on the cookbook. I love it. The recipes look wonderful. They seem a bit complicated and I am not sure where to find some of the ingredients, but I am going to make some of the recipes because they look fabulous.  Also, the pictures and presentation are beautiful and very appealing.  Thanks for such a nice gift!!! Phant Worakul’s new cookbook, Thai Essence , is more than a cookbook. It is a fabulous, step by step guide to not only cooking delicious Thai food but truly appreciating and understanding the Thai food experience. My first endeavor — garlic chicken was easy to make, and a real success. This is a must cook book for anyone who wants to begin to venture into cooking Thai food. What a treat!!
